North Carolina Core Based Statistical Area Reference Maps
The North Carolina State Data Center has created the following reference maps of the micropolitan, metropolitan, and combined statistical areas in North Carolina. These areas, collectively known as Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs), were defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget on June 6, 2003 in the OMB Bulletin Number 03-04. The underlying geography for each map is available in an accompanying spreadsheet.
