Goals:

  • Employ an enterprise-wide approach in the design and delivery of programs and services to maximize flexibility and access to services for the ultimate benefit of North Carolina residents.
  • Establish and promote a culture of continuous improvement by embracing performance management throughout the organization in order to improve departmental results and customer satisfaction.
Strategies:

Implement evidence based practices with an emphasis on prevention and measuring for results.

Provide seamless access to an array of services that are locally available, client and family centric and outcome oriented.

Incorporate quality improvement elements to enhance service delivery systems and promote quality of life and services for consumers and their families.

Conduct program evaluation through a collaborative process in order to measure, track and strengthen continuous performance management and promote organizational learning and improved program results.

Develop and promote policies and procedures that are flexible and responsive to consumers and families served by DHHS.

Department Mission:
To provide efficient services that enhance the quality of life of North Carolina individuals and families so that they have opportunities for healthier and safer lives resulting ultimately in the achievement of economic and personal independence.
