Strategic Planning
Strategic planning sets the direction of an organization by outlining what will be done over the course of the next few years. Strategic planning is essential for organizations large and small, and OSBM works with the Office of the Governor and state agencies to develop strategic plans. The goal is to evaluate statewide and agency-specific operations, identify areas where progress is most essential and then develop and execute a plan for the future while tracking progress along the way.
OSBM is involved in the following strategic planning efforts:
Agency Strategic Planning
OSBM develops guidelines and provides support to agencies in order to develop clear strategic plans that focus on what will be achieved over the next three to five years. Section staff works closely with agencies to evaluate each planning process and strategic plan, including how the planning influences budget decisions.
Program Performance Plans
OSBM works with divisions and programs within agencies to establish program performance plans. Program performance plans support strategic plans by establishing clear and measurable objectives and outlining action steps that align with agency goals. Performance plans also define objectively measured outcomes and allow for progress to be tracked in order to ensure results and the prudent use of public resources.
Strategic Management Contacts
Staff work with partner agencies to support strategic and program planning.
